I hope that's readable. I'm excited. I got what I wanted (mostly) so I'm quite happy with this schedule. I have 3 weddings coming up this year (as can be seen on my schedule) and I should be able to make all of them. We shall see :).
How exciting! Fam med is a great way to start. Make sure you do a lot of reading then because you will have less time during other rotations. Neuro and Psych are pretty chill. Then you hit the heavier rotations. Medicine and surgery will teach you about time management how to take care of patients as an intern. Good that medicine comes before surgery -- it'll help you adjust to the schedule. Ob/Gyn is a female dominated surgical field. And you get to end with fun pediatrics (I'm just a little biased), which, incidentally, is a female dominated medical field. I also ended with Peds, and while having it earlier would have helped me make my specialty decision earlier, it was like a breath of fresh air after all of 3rd year (most of which I did enjoyed, but not nearly as much as I loved peds).
What reading would you recommend?? Because I have no idea what you mean by reading lol.
I'm excited about to do Peds in Memphis because we do get 1 week at St. Jude AND hopefully by the time my rotation comes around, the new Le Bonheur Children's Hospital will be open and I'll get to do rounds there!
I'm pretty interested in Neuro, Internal Med, and Surgery as of now but I'm pretty sure I'll change as rotations go on. Peds, Family, OB/GYN, and Psych are not as much of an interest but we shall see :).
Crazy! I'm just so excited for you. I have pretty pictures in my head of you in a white coat with your studious-looking glasses ;-) You're gonna be a great doctor!
