- "Mamma Mia!" (the movie) is the first-of-it's-kind woman flick: it empowers the middle-aged woman. (therefore, not recommended for male viewers...unless you like broadway)
- I've put together more furniture within the past week than I've ever put together
- I listened to my first live blues band right on the street. Beale Street to be exact. I went exploring at the Peabody hotel and Beale Street today which is the place for the blues. I DEFINITELY developped an immediate love and appreciation for the story that this genre tells.
- I put pictures of my first own condo on facebook. Check it out: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2049127&l=94fe2&id=15502969
- My condo's christening (my usage of the term meaning: the naming and launching of a ship) - I gave my condo a name (Prov 22:1 says "a good name is more desirable than great riches"): The lighthouse - in accordance with Matt 5:14. For the Lord has brought me to this place to be a light that dispels the darkness.
And an interesting story that connects with this: So, my mom lost my mailbox key and I've been calling people all week to find out how to fix this situation (get a replacement key, replace the lock, etc). It was getting frustrating. Yesterday, I had called a locksmith to come and pick the lock and replace the key. It was hard to understand his English over the phone but he finally got here after a really long time. Picked the lock but couldn't get it open and still charged me $39 as a basic service call. But through this whole process, I find out that he's from Israel and that his name is Meir (I had to write him a check). Just now, as I was looking up the Hebrew word for light, I happened to come across Hebrew names for light. Meir is a male name that means "giving light". God is definitely showing me stuff...
So, I still have a locked mailbox but God has continually guided me and shown me His plan for me this week.
I'm reading this book called "Prayer Evangelism" by Ed Silvoso and I came across this phrase last night (they had broadcasted a call to do 3 things over the radio in the city of San Nicolas, Argentina): 1) to dedicate their homes to be lighthouses of prayer.
So not only is my condo (and I) to be a light on a hill, but also a house of prayer. A lighthouse of prayer.
Wow, God is so faithful, amazing, and powerful.
A humorous thing though...one of the first things I have to get used to when I move into a new place is getting used to where the light switches are =P.
