Day 1:
arrive at 2:30am and sleep until 9am
I guess technically still day 1: Go to stanley park: visit the vancouver aquarium, the lookout peak, lion's gate, totem poles. Then went to the capilano suspension bridge
Day 2:
Get up at 7am and take greyhound to Whistler. Get there at 10am. Walk around. Ride the snow mobile for about 2 hours. Go tubing for about 2 hrs. Take the 2 hr bus back home.
Day 3: Get up and ride the greyhound and ferry (mini-cruise!) to Victoria Island. Saw the Empress hotel, their government buildings, 66 flavors of gelato, bought tons of ice wine, went to Fan Tan Alley (the oldest china town around I believe?)
Day 4: Mr. Hsu and his family take us around the town. To Richmond, Gastown, etc.
Went to T&T, that big asian mall, Burnby mountain, Deer lake, and back to Stanley park at night.
Day 5: airport
Highs
- Whistler and driving a snow mobile!!! I really have a desire to learn snowboarding when I'm over there...They also have dog sledding there too (although it's very expensive).
Lows
- I don't like taking pictures from small moving boats. It's impossible to get a good picture. Nor do I like immense fog or cloudiness. Makes for bad lighting and contrast =P.
- A once in a lifetime HUGE mistake: accidentally reformatting my camera memory card and losing 200+ pictures. I think that was the time in my life that I most wished I could through a huge hissy temper tantrum like a 4 yr old. Except I screamed a little, took deep breaths and after 5 min, was ok lol
Huhs
- on the way back from Victoria island, on the greyhound, this little chinese kid sat behind my dad and i and he was so hyperactive! His dad made him recite his multiplication tables and man, that brought back some childhood memories lol.
Annnd, that's all folks! Anyone want to go back with me to Vancouver/Whistler one day? I definitely want to go back =). It's a great city! Hope everybody else's break was very relaxing and fun as well!
